Your Community Needs You
Perhaps you have submitted an exterior alteration application and have had the review meeting cancelled at the last minute because the Resident Architectural Committee (RAC) did not have a quorum. As a result, this has now pushed the start of your project back another 2 weeks. Delays such as this have been happening more frequently because
this important committee needs additional members.
The Association is seeking community members to serve on the RAC to ensure that we can keep the architectural review process moving forward. The members are responsible for reviewing the applications and conducting site visits to properties. The committee then reviews the applications in a public meeting using the Architectural Guidelines as the basis for review. Committee members work closely with applicants to ensure that the needs of the property owner are balanced with the impact on the neighborhood, adjoining properties, and open space while maintaining a quality community. Being a member of the committee will give you an opportunity to meet your neighbors, learn about new construction materials available, and take away ideas for updating and improving your own property. Most importantly, you will be giving back to our community.
You don’t have to have any special skills, just be at least 18 years old, live in the Village, and have the ability to conduct site visits and participate in the meetings. Training is provided! The committee typically meets the first and third Wednesday evenings of the month. Interested volunteers should contact Eva Lambright, the Village Covenant Advisor at 410-531-1749 or covenants@villageofriverhill.org.
