Yard Care Workshop
Spring is just around the corner, and it’s time to start making plans for planting a garden and maintaining your lawn. If you are looking for some new ideas or need some advice, plan to attend the upcoming Yard Care Workshop on Wednesday, March 16 at 7 p.m. at Claret Hall. Information about native plants and fescue lawns will be presented by the Master Gardeners of Howard County and the River Hill Watershed Advisory Committee.
During the workshop, you’ll learn how to care for a fescue lawn without adding to the pollution of the Chesapeake Bay. Topics will include soil preparation and testing, choosing correct seed, fertilizers, watering, mowing, thatch, weed and disease control. You’ll also find out how to create lush gardens by choosing the proper plants that are native to the area and which ones to eliminate.
Pre-registration is requested by calling 410-531-1749 or emailing newsletter@villageofriverhill.org .
