Urgent Request for Neighbors in Need
The Howard County Food Bank is in urgent need of donations. “Summer has taken its toll. From June to August, the Food Bank has served more than 3,934 individuals. The high demand has left their food inventory at dangerously low levels,” said Bita Dayhoff, President of the Community Action Council of Howard County (CAC). “Community support is essential to their operation and assures that your neighbors and their children won’t go to bed hungry.”
Please consider donating any of the following items:
• Soup
• Peanut butter
• Jams & jellies
• Pasta & pasta sauces
• Cereals (hot & cold)
• Breakfast bars and wafers
• Tuna
• Foods for special diets (low or no sodium, no sugar added, Kosher, etc.)
Food donations are accepted at the Food Bank, 8920 MD 108 (west of Centre Park Drive), Columbia, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. All gifts to CAC are 100 percent tax deductible. Please give online at www.cac-hc.org.
