Time to Clean Your Vinyl Siding!
Removal of discoloration, mold or mildew from your siding is a maintenance requirement in River Hill. Vinyl siding should be cleaned regularly. Looking to avoid chemicals? Clean with a soft brush and a “green” cleaning solution of 70% water and 30% vinegar. Some have found success with this “recipe” for cleaning vinyl siding:
• 1/3 cup powdered laundry detergent
• 2/3 cup powdered household cleaner
• 1 quart liquid laundry bleach
• 1 gallon water
For best results, start at the bottom of the house and wash up. When rinsing, start at the top, and rinse down. This will prevent streaking as the dirt is released and runs down toward the ground. Be sure to cover brick facing and landscaping to protect from any runoff.
