Thanks for Stepping Up!
We put out a call for volunteers in July and you heard our cry! We thank the residents who responded to our request for members for the Board of Directors and the Resident Architectural Committee (RAC). We received more applications than openings for the Village Board. River Hill residents Robert Choi and Jason Zagnit have been appointed to the Board to fill the positions. Their terms will end in April 2018. Now that we know residents are willing to serve, we’re aiming for a real election in April 2017—with more candidates than open positions!
So far, 5 residents have contacted Eva Lambright, the Association’s Covenant Advisor to volunteer for the RAC. Over the next two months she will be working with the Architectural Committee and these volunteers to get the RAC up and running. Ideally we’d like to have a full RAC with 7 members. So, if you were contemplating volunteering for the RAC, it’s not too late! Please contact Ms. Lambright at 410-531-1749 or covenants@villageofriverhill.org.
We had an overwhelming response to Jennifer Zhang’s May 2016 article about her experiences as a Student Member of the Village’s Board of Directors and volunteering with the Teen Advisory Committee (TAC). The Association received more than 20 applications for the 9 TAC positions available. Following an extensive interview process, the Board of Directors has appointed the following local youth to the TAC for the next year: Yamini Ananth, Brien Boulle’, Emily Chi, Amber Deng, Tobias Eegholm, Megan Rabe, Cindy Tian, Isabelle Zhan, and Andrew Zhang. We hope that the students who were not appointed will still participate in the Committee’s activities and that we have such an excellent pool of candidates next time.
Thanks to all who stepped up and want to make a difference in our community!
