Student’s Lemonade Stand Raises Money for School Supplies

Young resident Brynn Hudson recently held a lemonade stand to raise money to purchase school supplies for students in need in Howard County. In addition to tasty lemonade, the stand’s menu included cold bottled water and healthy treats for pups.

Ms. Hudson, who is a fifth grader at Pointers Run Elementary School, raised $310. She used the money to shop for the best deal for supplies, comparison shopping to get the most bang for her buck. The shopping trip filled up two carts of back-to-school essentials. The Hudson family delivered the items to The Kindness Pantry, a non-profit dedicated to helping local students.

This is the third year for the homegrown neighborhood fundraiser. The generous donations have grown every year with this year’s total nearly doubling last year’s amount.
