Sign Our Flag for the Troops
Give 2 the Troops (www.give2thetroops.org) is an organization that sends flags and banners to American troops overseas. They accept different types of flags (state, city, college, company flags & banners, and homemade banners). According to their website, many troops ask for flags from the website’s visitor’s states. Sometimes they fly them at their base or take a photo of their unit holding the state flag. Often troops are amazed to see support coming from all over the United States and from states they’ve never visited.
The community associations from the ten villages of Columbia are each taking a turn having a Howard County flag in their facility and we are asking that residents of the villages come by to sign the flag before it is sent to the troops.
We are proud to represent Howard County as we are in close proximity of all the Camps, Bases, Forts, and Washington, D.C., and our residents have connections to many who serve our country.
By signing the flag, you are providing our service members with moral support. Many of them are far from home and some may have grown up in the area. We will not provide any information about individuals who sign the flag. We only ask for your signature.
