Run for the River Hill Board of Directors

Serve Your Neighbors, Shape Your Community

Are you passionate about your community? Do you want to have a direct impact on the issues that matter most to River Hill? Consider running for election to the River Hill Board of Directors (RHBOD). Serving on the board offers a unique opportunity to serve your neighbors, shape local policies and contribute to the growth and vitality of our village.

The RHBOD has two open seats, and there is no limit to the number of candidates who may run. The River Hill Community Association was created to enhance the quality of life for residents and to provide opportunities for community engagement. As part of their responsibilities, board members oversee the association’s finances and management, including operating Claret Hall and The Meeting Room; enforce covenants; and help organize signature community events like the Independence Day Parade, the Very Spooky Halloween celebration and the National Night Out Pool Party. Additionally, the board appoints the Village Manager, sets association policy and advocates on behalf of residents. The board also champions key issues such as local development, traffic and safety on behalf of the community.

Members serve a two-year term from May 1, 2026, to April 30, 2028. They typically meet one evening per month, except in April, which includes two meetings. Curious about the role? Attend the next virtual Board Meeting on March 10 at 7 p.m.

How to Run
A nomination petition is available here. Petitions must be submitted by noon on March 21, 2026. Candidates can submit completed petitions as PDFs to manager@villageofriverhill.org (electronic signatures are not permitted). Hard copies may be mailed to or dropped off at Claret Hall, c/o Election Committee. A valid petition must include at least 10 verifiable signatures from River Hill residents. The Election Committee will accept multiple petitions nominating a candidate provided they are grouped together in a single packet. For residents aged 18 or older who are not listed as owners on the Association’s property rolls, proof of identity, age and residence must be submitted with the petition. Members may nominate more than one candidate, but candidates may only run for one position.

Election Day
The River Hill Community Association’s Annual Meeting and Village Elections will take place on Saturday, April 25, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Claret Hall. If a quorum is not met, a second meeting will be held on Tuesday, May 12. Stay tuned for additional details in the April issue of The Villager.

Step up, get involved and make a real impact in River Hill! Running for the Board of Directors is a rewarding way to help shape the future of your community.
