Reminder: Guidelines for Holiday Lights and Decorations

As the holiday season approaches, River Hill homeowners are encouraged to review the community’s guidelines for outdoor lights and seasonal displays. Festive decorations add warmth and cheer to the neighborhood, but it’s important that all residents follow the standards set by the River Hill architectural guidelines to help maintain a safe, attractive community.

Holiday decorations may be installed and operated no more than 28 days before the holiday they celebrate and must be removed within 28 days after the holiday. Decorations, wiring and supports must be placed only on your personal property — not in open space or other common areas.

Displays also must not block driveways, sidewalks or walkways, ensuring safe access for neighbors, pedestrians and emergency personnel.

Following these guidelines helps preserve the community’s appearance and ensures that decorations enhance the season for everyone. For questions about the guidelines, contact the covenant advisor at the village office.
