New Preschool Coming to Village
Preschoolers and their families will have an exciting new option this fall. Longfellow Nursery School, a dedicated community of teachers and families operating since 1971, will hold its classes for 2, 3, and 4-year olds in the Meeting Room during the 2013-14 school year.
As a cooperative preschool, LNS is based on the belief that children and parents both benefit when parents take an active role in their children’s education. Each class offers a play-based curriculum that engages children’s physical, emotional, social, creative, and cognitive selves. Four highly educated and experienced teachers lead the classes and parents take turns assisting in the classroom.
The approach has been so successful that some LNS “graduates” return and enroll their own children in the preschool they once attended.
Classes will begin in early September at The Meeting Room, 6330 Trotter Rd., Clarksville. The 2s class meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 to 10:30 a.m. (but will extend to an 11 a.m. dismissal time in October and an 11:30 a.m. dismissal time in January.). The 3s class meets Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 9 to 11:30 am. The 4s class meets Mondays through Thursdays from 12:45 to 3:15 p.m.
