Merry Mulch Your Holiday Tree
Did you miss the recycling truck? Don’t want to hold on to your Christmas tree until the next yard trim pick-up? Then Merry Mulch your tree through January 17 and help to conserve landfill space. Please remember to remove tinsel, garland, ornaments, lights, tree stands and plastic bags, etc. The drop-off sites are open 7 days a week from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Look for Merry Mulch signs at the following local spots:
Clarksville:

Don’t worry if it’s past January 17! You can still recycle your tree at the Alpha Ridge Landfill Wood Waste Area, 2350 Marriottsville Road, Monday through Saturday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Christmas Lights and Artificial Trees Please DO NOT put Christmas lights in your curbside recycling bins. Cords damage equipment at the recycling processor. Instead, recycle old, broken holiday lights at My Organic Market (7351 Assateague Drive, Jessup through January 31 and receive a 30% off coupon for energy efficient lighting. Has your artificial Christmas tree “bitten the dust”? Artificial trees with metal components can be recycled in the scrap metal area at the Alpha Ridge Landfill.
