Columbia Council Representative (2 candidates)

Renee DuBois

This election is about the future of Columbia and to create a Columbia with vibrant neighborhoods. As your Village Representative to the Columbia Association Board of Directors, I will continue to advocate for the improvement of traffic congestion along Great Star Drive and Route 108. And, strengthen the partnership with Bike Howard to implement its 3-4 year plan to encourage alternative modes of transportation. It is also important that CA continue to focus on the repair and upgrade of our tot lots and playgrounds. Additionally, CA must continue to expand its summer camp offerings and before/after school programs. Further, CA must work to protect the environment through Open Space management and be willing to adopt technologies to reduce energy consumption. As your Council Representative and Village Board member, I will continue to advocate for the future of the village.

Dipper Wettstein

I was born and raised in Columbia, Maryland and proud of it! Since 2003, I have served the Columbia Association and River Hill in many ways.

As a professional Realtor and lifelong CA resident, I take pride in being a problem solver with great negotiation skills.

In the past I have used these skills leading a committee that defeated lawyers who were defending the “Garden Center”. I created the first village watershed committee and assisted other village boards in starting similar committees.

The two biggest expenses for the CA budget are pools and ponds. I’ve served on the advisory committee for both areas.

Prior Experience:
• Chair & Vice Chair/RH BOD
• Chair & Vice Chair/Columbia Aquatics Association
• Chair/Columbia Assiociation Watershed Committee
• Formed & Chaired/RH Watershed & Garden Center Committee
• RH/RAC Member

Please vote on April 27th!
