Over the next several months, Howard and Anne Arundel Counties, the MD State Highway Administration and Columbia Association will be installing signs as part of a 15 mile signed bike route from Clarksville to NSA/Fort Meade. The signs will direct cyclists on county and state roads and shared use pathways between Clarksville and the edge of the NSA Campus.
The project will place signs on county, state and CA owned property adjacent to roadways. The signage will direct cyclists by providing turn by turn directions, including the distance, to various destinations along the route. The project will provide a parallel route to MD32 from MD 108 to MD 295, since cycling is not allowed on this segment of MD32.
The map shows the overall scope of the route. The signs are based on standard bike route sign standards and are 30 by 18 inches and will be placed at locations where cyclists will have to change directions, such as an intersection.
