Jeans Drive at Claret Hall
Claret Hall is now a drop-off point for a jeans drive organized by River Hill High School students Zoe Jordan, Carly Kempler, and Logan Nicastro to benefit Happy Helpers for the Homeless. They are collecting all sizes and all types of gently worn pants; however, men’s sizes and full-length jeans are most needed.
Carly, Logan, and Zoe have been collecting jeans since the fall when they contacted Happy Helpers of the Homeless and received permission from the school administration to run the drive at school. They then made signs and donation boxes and advertised the drive throughout the school.
Residents can get involved by simply donating their gently worn jeans. Everyone has old jeans lying around, so it’s really
easy. All styles and materials of jeans and shorts are needed. The goal is to collect 200 pairs of jeans, and as of now the trio is more than halfway there. Help them reach their goal by dropping off your gently used jeans at Claret Hall (look for the purple bin) during our regular hours of Mondays and Fridays 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.; and Saturdays 9 to noon. The drive will continue at Claret Hall until the end of March and at the school it will continue until the end of May.
