Graffiti Mars Community
On the morning of July 12, residents in the section of the Pointers Run neighborhood located off of Western Star Run and Autumn Wind Circle awoke to vandalism that had occurred overnight. Vandals had spray painted graffiti and written with black marker throughout the area. The letters CVH were prominent and the neon orange and green paint stood out on numerous street signs, mailboxes, and utility boxes. In addition, two tot lots, bridges, rocks, and storm drains in the open space were also vandalized. Upon learning about the incidents early in the day, the Association was able to promptly notify the police, the Columbia Association, and other responsible parties to get the reports filed and clean-up underway. Anyone with information about this vandalism is asked to call the police at 410-313-STOP. Callers may remain anonymous. Many thanks to the residents who contacted the police directly to file reports and those who notified the community association so that staff was able to take swift action.
At this time, the police do not believe that this graffiti was the result of gang activity, but are pursuing all leads. Residents are encouraged to notify the police if suspicious activity is observed. Call 911 if a crime is in progress or call the non-emergency number at 410-313-2200 if something or someone seems suspicious or out of place. It’s better to have the police patrol through the area than to wake up to issues in the morning.
