Food Scrap Recycling Program

As of early December, the Howard County Department of Public Works (DPW) reported that 1,316 residents joined the Food Scrap Recycling Program that is newly available in the River Hill/Clarksville/Columbia area – and about 100 of those joined since the roll-out in November. There are an additional 1,120 people participating in the program area that covers parts of Ellicott City and Elkridge that began 2 years ago. This is a sign that there are many environmentally conscious residents in our community.

River Hill residents can still sign up for the program by visiting the website (www.FeedTheGreenBin.org), calling DPW at 410-313-6434, or mailing back the postcard if you still have one. Anyone who would like more information about the program should visit the website or call the office. DPW staff members are always happy to talk to folks about this exciting program.
