Domestic Violence Resources Available

HopeWorks is Howard County’s Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Center. Since 1978, the center has been providing critical services to families affected by domestic violence and raising awareness in the community.

An ongoing Women’s Support Group meets every Tuesday from 6-7:30 p.m. to provide support to women who have experienced emotional, sexual, and/or physical abuse. For more information or to register, call 410-997-0304 to speak with an advocate about participating in the Women’s Support Group.

The Asian/Pacific Islander Domestic Violence Resource Project (DVRP), which is affiliated with HopeWorks, provides services to survivors of domestic violence in Washington DC, Maryland and Virginia. Their mission is to address, prevent and end domestic violence and sexual assault in Asian/Pacific Islander communities while empowering survivors to rebuild their lives after abuse. If you or someone you know needs help, call 202-833-2232. For more information, visit www.dvrp.org or outreach@wearehopeworks.org.

HopeWorks is always looking for additional volunteers and offers community outreach programs for Howard County residents in the hopes of creating the change for violence prevention. Find out about how to host a HopeWorks at Home gathering for your friends and family members to learn how to be an active bystander in preventing and ending sexual and domestic violence in the community. Call the Community Engagement Department at 410-997-0304 or email the Director of Community Engagement at outreach@wearehopeworks.org.
