Development Updates: Proposed Continuing Care

On October 27, the Howard County Zoning Board opted to continue its deliberations for the development of the Erickson at Limestone Valley Continuing Care Retirement Community at their next meeting, tentatively scheduled for November 10. The proposal requests to rezone 62.116 acres from B-2 & RC-DEO to CEF-M for development of a continuing care retirement community and to permit the expansion/relocation and architectural enhancement of the existing Freestate Gasoline Service Station (MD 108, 12170 Clarksville Pike & p/o 5450 Sheppard Lane).

Scott Property
The Howard County Design Advisory Panel met on October 27 and deliberated the Scott Property development request for an age-restricted (55 and older) community adjacent to Clarksville Middle School at South Trotter Road and Swimmer Row Way. A zoning regulation amendment hearing will be scheduled in the coming weeks.

Willow Nook/Yoltay Property
Willow Nook, also known as the Yoltay Property, located at 7079 Guilford Road was annexed by River Hill Community Association and Columbia Association on October 20. A pre-submission community meeting will be held on Tuesday, November 9 at 6:30 p.m. via Zoom for the purpose of providing information to the community regarding the initial submission of a Conditional Use Petition to the Department of Planning & Zoning for a proposed two-family dwelling on the Subject Property. The developer’s consultants will be available to describe the proposed residential project and to answer and address any questions or concerns the community may have.
