Developer Proposes Pathway Extensions to Village

On November 5, representatives from Chesapeake Realty Partners will meet with the River Hill Community Association’s (RHCA) Board of Directors to share their plans to connect the Cedar Creek residential development (formerly known as Simpson Oaks) to the Pointers Run neighborhood in the Village of River Hill. The developer, as part of the zoning requirement to provide community enhancements, is planning pathway and sidewalk connections to Grace Drive, the existing sidewalk on Quiet Night Ride, and the existing Columbia Association (CA) pathway. The CA pathway and sidewalk currently terminate into the roadway adjacent to the traffic circle.

At a minimum, to achieve the connection, a small portion of the CA pathway will need to be graded and reconstructed including removal of the existing termination ramps and minimal disturbance to understory plant material for the new asphalt path. River Hill’s Board of Directors encourages all residents impacted or interested in this connection to attend the meeting on November 5 to learn about the plans and provide feedback. The RHCA will provide the developer and CA with its recommendation(s). All plans impacting CA open space require acknowledgement and acceptance from the Columbia Association.

RHCA’s November 5 Board of Directors meeting will begin at 7 p.m. Here is the 11-5-18 Board Meeting Agenda.
