Claret Hall’s First Wedding Rental Celebrates Silver Anniversary
Twenty-five years after saying “I do” at Claret Hall, Dave and Jaclyn Miller returned to River Hill to celebrate another milestone: their 25th wedding anniversary.
The Millers were married at Claret Hall on Sept. 29, 2001—the first couple to be married there after the venue opened—and recently returned to the same location for their silver anniversary celebration.
“We were very excited to be able to celebrate our milestone at the place we got married,” said Jaclyn Miller.
The couple met in the Columbia area in 1999 and fell in love. When they began planning their wedding, they chose Sept. 29 as their wedding date—the same date they had first met.
“I don’t remember exactly how we found Claret Hall, but I remember feeling that it was exactly what we were looking for in a reception venue,” Jaclyn said. “The beautiful open floor plan, with a cozy sitting area and an outdoor area, were perfect for our special day.”
She added, “It was a wonderful evening and experience overall, and we’re so looking forward to celebrating 25 years in the location where we were first introduced as Mr. and Mrs. Miller.”
The Millers have remained in the area and now live near Arundel Mills mall. Their family has grown considerably since their wedding day. They have two sons in their 20s, a teenage daughter and a 1-month-old grandson. Two cats and two dogs round out the family.
The couple is also active in their local church, Mosaic Christian Church. In their free time, they enjoy taking dance lessons, with salsa, swing and Cuban dancing among their favorites.
Jaclyn teaches yoga in Columbia, Ellicott City and Elkridge, while Dave works for the federal government.
