Changes to Architectural Committee Charters Under Consideration; Residents Invited to Comment

The River Hill Board of Directors is amending the charters of the River Hill Architectural Committee (RHAC) and its subcommittee, the River Hill Resident Architectural Committee (RAC). The proposed changes aim to ensure transparency and encourage community engagement with committee members, while aligning with Maryland state law. The board is also working to minimize potential conflicts of interest between committee members and residents whose applications are under review by the RHAC and RAC.

After the proposed revisions, the Conflicts sections of the Charters will read as follows:

CONFLICTS. RHAC / RAC members are subject to the Association’s Code of Ethics. They also must at all times comply with the Association’s restrictive covenants, rules, and Guidelines for their lot. A RHAC / RAC member shall not participate or vote on any matter or issue for which they have a conflict, including if they have a familial or close personal or business relationship with the applicant, lot owner or resident of the lot that is the subject of the Application or Violation.
