Association Fetes Volunteers with Award Dinner

LInda Saletel, Frank Saletel, Sayyeed Mohammad, Jennifer Blake, and Mohammad Saleem attended the Association’s annual Volunteer Appreciation event.

The River Hill Community Association (RHCA) relies on the commitment of volunteers to provide quality services to River Hill residents and the broader community.  Members of the Association’s Board of Directors, various committees, and block captains joined together on Friday, November 19 to be recognized for all they do on behalf of our community.   Dinner, drinks and speeches were enjoyed by the approximately fifty people that attended.

The Volunteer of the Year award was given to the members of the RHCA 2009 – 2010 Traffic & Safety Committee: Tony Miceli, Robert Runser, James Robertson, Rosanna Mazzella, and Sofia Vazquez for the extra time and effort they put in working to make River Hill’s roads and intersections safer for our residents.  The new pedestrian crossings along Linden Linthicum Lane, Indian Summer Drive, and Great Star Drive are the result of these Committee Members advocating on behalf of the community.  They also identified areas where street trees needed to be trimmed to improve the visibility of traffic signs and were instrumental in obtaining sidewalks along sections of Great Star Drive and Linden Linthicum Lane.  This Committee reinvigorated the idea of adding bike lanes along Great Star Drive.   Based on their efforts, the Association is continuing to pursue the installation of bike lanes with the County and the Columbia Association.

The RCHA appreciates all of the time and effort the volunteers give to our community – thank you.
