Annual Food Drive
Each year in January, the River Hill Community Association sponsors a food drive to benefit the Howard County Food Bank. Run by the Howard County Community Action Council, the food bank provides emergency food grants to families to ensure that families have adequate nutritious
food and also warehouses food for distribution to other food pantries in the County.
The primary source of products for the Food Bank is donations from groups and individuals who conduct food drives in their communities. The River Hill Community Association is collecting donations for the Food Bank during the entire month of January. The Food Bank’s shelves tend to need re-stocking at this time of year, so there is a collection box at Claret Hall, 6020 Daybreak Circle, Clarksville. Look for the blue bin in the lobby and drop off your contributions through January 31 during regular business hours.
All donations are appreciated, but the items that the Food Bank needs the most are:
Pasta
Pasta sauce
Cereal
Toothbrushes
Toothpaste
Personal care items
Baby diapers
Baby food
Baby wipes
